About

Caleb Shortt is a security specialist and entrepreneur.

He has an M.Sc. in Computer Science where his research focused on applying machine learning algorithms to better target software security testing (Specifically fuzz-testing and genetic algorithms), and a B.Sc. in Computer Science with a special focus on Software Engineering and Security.

He has and spent two years pursuing a PhD towards improving the false positive rates of intrusion detection systems, and then pivoted to research in developing practical attacks against Machine Learning and AI — with a special focus in attacking facial recognition systems.

Aside from technical topics, Caleb’s interests include business, politics, writing, photography, architecture, and current events. He is an entrepreneur at heart and he encourages those around him to follow their own entrepreneurial pursuits.
